Located in the Atlantic Ocean, southwest of the Bahamas, Turks & Caicos is a chain of islands with some of the world’s best beaches, most breathtaking dive sites and calmest waters.

Naturally, one daydream about the turquoise Caribbean Sea led to another, and before we knew it, we were packing our bags for the annual Beaches Friends Forever (BFF) Ultimate Girls Getaway. The four-day event landed us on Grace Bay—Providenciales’ own 12-mile stretch of beautiful white sand that was voted World’s Best Beach by TripAdvisor in 2018.

Comprised of five separate villages—Italian, French, Key West, Caribbean, and Seaside—Beaches is a five-star, all-inclusive resort with architecture and dining that captures the ambiance of each of iconic locale.

While celebrating the 10th anniversary of Beaches Best Friends Forever Girls’ Getaway, our home away from home was in the Key West Village—an oasis that embodies the laid-back nature of the Florida Keys.

This year’s 10-year celebration included a schedule packed with exciting activities, from seaside yoga and a beach bonfire party to a private catamaran cruise and Girl Talk panel discussion.

Because we loved escaping to paradise with our best friend (aka sister!), here’s a recap of our Beaches Friends Forever Girls Getaway

To kick off the week, we attended the Welcome Cocktail Reception followed by dinner at Schooners—one of 21 globally inspired restaurants, located just steps from the beach. With an array of tasty options to choose from, we opted for two island-worthy dishes: lemongrass-scented snapper and the Turks & Caicos specialty conch. Both had us craving more and appreciating how fresh the ingredients were.

If seafood isn’t your thing, Kimonos is always a great option. Serving teppanyaki cuisine with a side of entertainment from lively, interactive chefs, this restaurant has great energy and plenty of food for everyone.

The next morning, we wanted to fit a little R&R into our itinerary. At first, Colleen thought this meant sleeping in, but she wasn’t at all disappointed to find that we were treated to morning seaside meditation and yoga instead. The hour-long yoga session took place right on the sand and was led by Beaches’ very own instructors. Nothing quite compared to that beautiful morning and hearing the sound of waves rolling up to the shore.

To continue the peaceful energy of the morning, we treated ourselves to beachfront massages. The resort’s Red Lane® Spa offers a collection of tropically-inspired spa treatments, and we highly recommend the passion fruit agave massage for nourishing muscle relief and an unbelievably aromatic scent.

Around midday, we set sail for Half Moon Bay on a private Island Routes Catamaran Cruise. It was the perfect way to kick back, soak up some sun and take a dip in the crystal clear water.

Being home to the third largest coral reef in the world also makes Turks & Caicos a pristine location for snorkeling and scuba diving. The best part? Beaches offers complimentary snorkel masks and daily dives, which are included for certified divers! If you’re not certified yet, not to worry—resort offers courses led by PADI®-certified instructors as a vacation add-on.

When we think back to our trip, we both agree that the reef was one of the most beautiful places we saw on and it is a must see for anyone visiting Beaches!

In addition to endless activities for relaxation enthusiasts and sea lovers, there are plenty of activities by land to keep you busy all week long. If you enjoy shopping like we do, you can check out resort gift shops for unique gifts from around the world. And, since Turks & Caicos’ currency is the US Dollar, you don’t have to worry about an exchange rate!

As a part of the Girls Getaway package, we even had the opportunity to attend a skin care class, jewelry showcase, and wine tasting. It was a great way to splurge a little and experience certain resort offerings in a different way.

Another shared favorite activity on the BFF itinerary was the Under the Moonlight Beach Bonfire. This all-white attire party featured a chocolate buffet and signature cocktails at the Rum Potion Bar—need we say more?!

Overall, the entire week was the combination of great company, delicious food, picture-perfect scenery, and unbeatable service. Plus, it’s not everyday that you get to travel with your best friend or, in our case, sister, and we couldn’t think of a better person to have shared this trip with.

Whether you attend one of the two BFF events held each year or plan your own Beaches vacation, Turks & Caicos is the ideal destination for year-round travel. So, grab your BFF and get planning. Beaches Turks & Caicos is waiting for you!
